Fun Fact
A fun fact about me that I rarely share or mention is that I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and came to the USA at age 4. I became an American Citizen at 18 amd was so excited to become an American and to vote.
What always improves your mood, and why?
Going for a run. Clearing my head. Being with family.
How did you get started in CRE and why? Does it differ from your reasons for remaining in CRE?
I graduated college in Public Administration and because of my background, wanted to work for the Department of Justice/Immigration but the Federal government had a hiring freeze. Instead, my first job was with ITT Financials, then later with a small federal chartered bank (Eastern Savings Bank). At ESB started as a meeting loan processor and wanted more so I started calling senior leaders in different departments and ended up in Other Real Estate Owned (OREO) as Asset Manager. I always wanted to do something in real estate, but I wasn't sure what. I also wanted to give back and work for DOJ. I ended up liking working as an asset manager and that's how my career started.
Who or what inspires you now? Why?
My parents and entire family. My grandparents left Italy, traveled to Argentina, then to USA in the 1970's with five kids. They only knew a few people in NYC but made a great life for all of us in starting a restaurant business. Hard work and dedication, it's where I get my work ethic, especially from my dad. No matter what, he was always proud and took pride in what he did and accomplished.
