Fun Fact:
I am passionate about equal opportunities for women. I was honored to be recognized as one of the top Women Leaders of N.Y. for 2021 by Women We Admire. I am immediate past President and an active Board Member of the NY Chapter of the Coalition for Women's Initiatives in Law and also serve on the Board of the National Coalition.
Develop your practice and network. During my career of more than 38 years in commercial and real estate litigation, I have developed a reputation as an aggressive and tenacious litigator (recognized as a "Best Lawyer" in Real Estate Litigation for the last four years) who also has the ability to bring opposing parties together and use a deep understanding of real estate parties' interests to resolve disputes and achieve clients' objectives. I have come to understand the importance of not only developing one's professional practice and reputation, but of building a network and supportive community.
Describe a key piece of advice you received during your career, and how it impacted you.
My mother had the most influence on me growing up. My mother was an extraordinarily talented professional visual artist and gave up much of her career to raise my sister and me. She instilled in me the need for financial independence and to pursue my chosen career. My mother also is the initial source of my interest in real estate as she owned, and with my father, managed a small commercial building so I grew up hearing about leases, disputes with tenants and other trials and tribulations as well as the upside of building ownership.
What is a business opportunity you are seeking?
I seek opportunities to represent clients in real estate or business dispute matters and parties involved in real estate, whether developers, owners, commercial tenants, brokers, partners or other investors, coop and condo boards and their professionals, as a lawyer who sees through both a litigation and transactional lens.
