How many years a CREW Member?

Fun Fact
Two fun facts about my self is first: Spanish is my first language and I take every opportunity to speak it, read it and write it. And second: I am a huge tennis fan and my dream is to attend in person the Australian and French open, my family and I go to the US open at Flushing Meadows every year and it is my favorite time.
What is a big risk you have taken, and how did it work out?
A big risk I took was shifting career locations, from Long Island to Manhattan back in 2012. Landing a job within the Commercial Real Estate industry was a huge shift as well. I started at CBRE as a sourcing and contract administrator. Then moved to JLL as a sourcing specialist for a finance client in a retail portfolio. And in 2018, I was tapped by Cushman & Wakefield for the Procurement Manager Role for a residential portfolio.
The risk was well worth it, I now lead and manage a team for strategic sourcing, vendor compliance and overall procurement activities across a high performing client portfolio.
If you were not involved in real estate, what would you be doing now and why?
If I was not involved in real estate, I would probably be working with a Finance agency, I understand and generally enjoy making sense of numbers and integrating as a the back bone of any business. While I attended college I got a job as accounts payable clerk and moved up the ranks to Payroll Administrator which was very rewarding.
Until I discovered I was interested in other parts of business management, so I made the shift to Purchasing / Office Manager a few years later which led me into Procurement Management within CRE.
Who or what inspires you now? Why?
I am inspired by resilience which, by definition is the capacity to recover quickly from difficult situations. I came to America when I was only twelve years old and between learning a new language, adapting to a new culture and surviving high school, I learned to move on and continue to strive for success.
Resilience is a great quality to have as career paths are not always an easy ride and it is important to remain grounded and humbled through the journey.
My family is also an inspiration, their support in everything that I do at work and with organizations like CREW means so much to me.
