Fun Fact:
I love to ski. I've been skiing since I was about 13 and when I first started Ihated it. Couldn't get down the bunny without falling 3 times, however I kept at it and +40 years later it's my passion. Both of my daughters are great skiers and skied varsity for the Weston High School team. I taught my husband how to ski when we were dating. I absolutely love to ski with my family. We generally stick to the black and double black runs. We have a great time skiing together.
How do you bring value to your company?
Coming up with creative/ strategic solutions for our clients and enabling them to achieve the outcomes they are looking for. Each client is different and their needs vary so widely. Having a background that spans over 30 years and includes experience in leasing, lending, private equity, workouts and asset management means that I bring the knowledge I have gained from these disciplines and apply it to the situation at hand.
What about CRE ignites your passion? How about in your current role?
That a property's intrinsic value comes from so many factors: a building's layout and functionality, the creditworthiness of its tenancy, where the property is located within a given market, where that market is within an economic cycle and what is also on in the' political environment. And then, of course, there is the capital stack - the equity and debt - and all of the counterparty risks. And, perhaps most important, is the documentation that supports all of the above. Solving a client's problems means that you are constantly faced with new situations that require creativity - and I enjoy that.
What advice would you give on how to achieve work/life balance?
Work in a field that you enjoy. Find passion in it. For me, working is part ofmy life. If you are asking about work/play balance that's a whole different story. Make sure to find things to enjoy when you aren't working. Take time to smell the roses!
